I’m going to cut to the chase: I love my bed. Everything about it. The mattress that feels like a hug, the fluffy pillows that feel like clouds around my head, and the bedding. Oh, do I love high-quality bedding! I’m a strong believer in investing in crisp set of sheets and pillow cases with a matching duvet because they can make or break a great night’s sleep.
When shopping for the best bedding set to fit my needs, I have a few absolute non-negotiables: First, the sheets need to be buttery soft (I prefer cotton). Secondly, the sheets must wash nicely. Nothing drives me bonkers quite like sheets that attract lint or pill after the first or second wash! And lastly, my bedding should have some sort of cooling effect because I tend to sleep hot.
Earlier this summer, Parachute dropped its new Resort Collection—and holy moly, this bedding absolutely, 100 percent ticks all of those boxes for me. You know that luxurious feeling of being at a hotel on holiday, and slipping your body between the white silky, cooling top sheet and bedspread, and laying your head on those uber soft pillow cases that envelope the plush pillows? That’s how I’d describe the experience of Parachute’s Resort bedding.
It’s a collection that truly lives up to its name. Made from 100 percent organic sateen that totally gives that fresh, crisp feel that I look for in sheets, the bedding also keeps me warm and cozy at night without causing my body to overheat during my (preferable) 9-hour slumber. I also love how well they wash. At first I was nervous it would attract tons of lint in the dryer, but I was pleasantly surprised to see them come out looking as they did straight out of the box.
Beyond the texture, the bedding looks like a set that belongs in a 5-star hotel. The collection comes in two available colorways: a bone hue with subtle cream piped edges and a white option with sophisticated black piping, which is the one I have. Don’t get me wrong, deciding on which one to get was not easy for me because they’re both equally as chic, but there’s something about that white-and-black combination that gives off modern, clean vibes. Between the fabric and the aesthetic, the bedding makes me feel like I’m on a 24-7 vacation.
The Resort Collection is available in several bundles. I have the Organic Soft Luxe Venice Set, which comes with a fitted sheet, pillow case set, and duvet, but you also have the option to pick and choose individual pieces for building your dream bed set up. Which makes this collection all the more worth it.
I recently went on a 10-day trip across Paris and London and was so pleased to return to my apartment at 3 a.m. to a freshly-made bed with the Resort bedding (pro tip: change your sheets the day you are going away so you come back to a fresh bed!). Waking up that morning felt like I never left the European hotels in the first place! I’m definitely going to be pretty bummed when it’s time to change the sheets again on Sunday, but in that case… I guess I’ll also have to get the bedding in the bone colorway to rotate between the two. And that’s not a problem with me!
