A day after Anya Taylor-Joy married Malcolm McRae in an unconventional wedding dress custom-made by Dior, she stepped out in yet another whimsical take on bridal fashion.
Paparazzi captured photos of the Queen’s Gambit star as she prepared to board a water taxi with her husband in Venice, Italy, where the luxe nuptials took place. Instead of the embroidered beige gown she had worn for the ceremony, she stepped out in a more casual—but just as ethereal—bridal minidress.
The ivory white mini featured a corseted bodice that cinched in her waist and draping fabric that extended into an elegant off-the-shoulder detail. For her footwear, Taylor-Joy ditched formal heels for a more sensible option that’s been making a big comeback this fall: ballet flats. She wore a plain black iteration with a thin strap across the center. To accessorize, she added a pair of narrow black sunglasses, a dark blue scrunchy, and an array of rings.
Meanwhile, McRae wore a dark brown ‘70s-esque suit and a crisp white button-down, in photos you can see here.
The Emmy-nominated actor made a splash this past weekend with her unexpected wedding dress. The whimsigoth Dior gown was made out of tan-colored tulle, rather than the typical bridal white, and featured colorful embroidered illustrations of birds and flowers. She topped off the look with a long bright white veil.
The reportedly 150-person long guest list included Cara Delevingne, Julia Garner, and Nicholas Hoult.
